Content Curator (Olympics)


EEG Video is seeking Content Curators in the Sports Broadcasting service division to help fulfill our mission of delivering high-reliability captioning services to major entertainment clients broadcasting some of the world’s largest sporting events.

About the Position

The Content Curator position is a temporary contractor position (June to August/September 2021) targeting summer sports broadcasting events, with options for full-time work available by mutual agreement at the end of the initial period.

The position will be primarily remote, but will also include scheduled in-person training and some active operations at EEG’s sites in Brooklyn, Long Island, and at customer’s site in Stamford, Connecticut.


  • Learn to use EEG’s Lexi software for vocabulary and athlete names customization, and to monitor live closed captioning transcriptions for Quality Assurance
  • Perform research from the internet and other available sources to generate vocabulary lists and athlete names and correct pronunciations from around the world
  • Provide customer service for scheduling and vocabulary inquiries over phone, email, and messaging applications such as Teams/Slack
  • Pass technical support issues to dedicated EEG tech support experts
  • Review video captioning performances and produce error reports on incorrect transcriptions
  • Provide backup for live operational support, confirming that captions are appearing across all live event customer video channels
  • Job is primarily US Eastern business hours Monday-Friday, but must be available to work some night and weekend shifts during major events


  • Fluent in American English, with strong spelling, grammar, and vocabulary skills
  • Interest and knowledge in Olympic-style sports and terminology
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in data entry and transcription evaluation tasks
  • Fluency in simple statistics, such as calculating a percentage of words that are incorrect in a transcript
  • Basic computer literacy - email and messaging apps, Google Docs and Google Sheets, use of browser-based software applications for vocabulary entry

Job Details

The job is a temporary contract position through September 17, 2021. If the project is successful, there will likely be opportunities for contractors to continue in a similar role as permanent employees after this date.

College students seeking summer employment may apply with an earlier contract end date of August 13, 2021.

Anticipated hours of work per week will be 40 hours throughout the contract, with possibilities for overtime earning during major events.

Base pay offered will be $22 per hour.
