Marketing & Communications Manager

EEG is a privately-owned media technology company with customers including nearly all of the largest broadcasting, cable, and OTT/streaming media players in the United States. Our primary focus is video accessibility in the form of closed captions, benefiting the deaf and hard-of-hearing, language learners, and anyone who has ever watched a video on “mute.” Our pioneering role in IP-based live captioning systems was recognized when EEG received a Science & Technology Emmy® award in 2015.

We have a talented and growing staff focusing on fast-paced solutions to customer-focused challenges such as new ultra-HD and IP-driven media formats, artificial intelligence and automation, and migration of video production technology to cloud-powered platforms and workflows.

The Marketing & Communications Manager position is open at either of EEG's offices - the company headquarters in Farmingdale, NY or the R&D hub in the DUMBO neighborhood of downtown Brooklyn.
 

Job Description

EEG is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to take the lead in promoting our industry-leading accessibility technology products through trade shows and events, traditional and social media, our website, and other creative avenues.

The Marketing & Communications Manager will engage closely with Sales management to set goals, make target market assessments, and measure campaign results, and with Engineering and Product management to learn about new technology developments and provide actionable feedback on the development roadmap.

Responsibilities will include the areas of:

  • Content development for company website (eegent.com)
  • Content development for printed and online materials to enable the sales team in communicating benefits of EEG products to prospective customers
  • Coordinating company participation in trade show events, including ~3 weeks annual travel
  • Market research and strategic planning input for sales and product development strategies
  • Managing advertising and paid promotional opportunities including web, print, and event sponsorship
  • Engagement with trade media to maximize earned publicity mentions, press releases, and case studies
  • Cultivation of opportunities for EEG executives to demonstrate industry leadership through guest articles/blogging, speaking engagements, and expert panels

Qualifications 

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in a relevant field such as business, marketing/PR, or engineering/technology
  • 3 years professional experience in marketing, sales, or project management
  • Experience in B2B marketing/sales, software technology, and/or the video production industry preferred
  • Strong persuasive writing skills - hired candidate will need to generate written material personally and/or evaluate and edit the work of others
  • Strong fundamentals in commercial graphic design and web design - hired candidate will need to generate successful print and digital materials personally and/or evaluate and edit the work of others
  • Comfort with direct customer interaction via email, telephone or in-person presentations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform project management

Pay and Benefits

$60K - $85K annual base salary depending on experience, with additional annual bonus of 5-20% based on individual, team, and company performance
