Master Control Operator (Olympics)

Stamford, CT

EEG Video is seeking Master Control Operators in the Sports Broadcasting service division to help fulfill our mission of delivering high-reliability captioning services to major entertainment clients broadcasting some of the world’s largest sporting events.

About the Position

The Master Control Operator position is a temporary contractor position (July to September 2021) targeting summer sports broadcasting events for which EEG is providing live closed captioning services, and is responsible for overseeing those services.

The primary work site will be a customer-hosted Technical Operations Center for video in Stamford, Connecticut.

Work shifts will primarily be overnight hours to accommodate the events schedules for sporting events occurring in Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor multiple simultaneous live video events with careful attention to closed captioning presence, synchronization, and correctness
  • Learn to use the scheduling and monitoring features in EEG’s Lexi AI Captioning system to identify and swiftly correct issues
  • Work closely with event directors and customers’ technical operations staff to respond to schedule changes or anomaly reports
  • Escalate technical support issues to dedicated EEG tech support experts when necessary
  • Produce a daily report of operational tasks and any notable discrepancies

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a broadcast control room, master control or operations center, or similar media operational role
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence learning new software skills such as operating the EEG captioning scheduling and monitoring tools
  • Reliability and attention to detail
  • Positive customer-facing skills and ability to convey the whole EEG’s team passion for high-quality captioning and service
  • Good communication skills in-person, over phone, and using email or Teams/Slack

Job Details

The job is a temporary contract position beginning on or about July 12th and going through September 6, 2021.

Base pay offered will be $42 per hour, with overtime available beyond 40 hours per week at 1.5x pay rate.

Meals will be provided on-site during shifts. Local hotel lodging in Stamford, CT during busy events may also be available and included on advanced request. A negative COVID test and/or vaccination may be required.
